Tips & tricks version 2011

Cabling 2011 introduces enhancements in the definition of bundles with a coating material (sheaths). The new features include the ability to manage an add-on length for a bundle and how to display this information.

Now the bundles with material can handle:

effective length of the bundle
add-on length, positive or negative, added or subtracted to the effective length of the bundle returns the effective length of the sheath
partial length of the bundle when the bundle is the subject of union with other paths (you join add more bundles between them if they are interrupted by splice)
tolerance on the length of the bundle.

In the window Harness Layout settings - Drawing settings is available an area dedicated to the lengths of bundles:

These the rules of operation:

%T represents the tag that is replaced by the total length of the bundle
%P is the tag that is replaced by the length of each piece of bundle joined to another because it interrupted by a splice
%S represents the tag with the actual length of the sleeves, the length to which must be cut
if the three tags are punctuated by semicolons, where a tag has no value all characters between the commas are ignored
The tolerance is added automatically if the value is not 0
if a bundle is not combined with another partial length %P is not handled
If add-on length of a sheath is 0 %S is not handled.
